MAXIDURA – GOUGING – 132

Versatility: Works on almost all conductive metals (ferrous and non-ferrous).
Cost-Effective: Uses simple, affordable equipment compared to plasma or laser cutting.
Portability: Lightweight equipment is ideal for use in workshops and on-site operations.
Speed and Efficiency: Removes material quickly, reducing labor time.
Cleaner Results: Compressed air prevents re-solidification, leaving behind smooth, clean surfaces.
Wide Range of Applications: Suitable for both large-scale industrial work and precision tasks.

Description

MAXIDURA – GOUGING – 132

MAXIDURA—GOUGING—132 is used for Carbon Arc Gouging (CAG), a metal removal process that uses an electric arc to melt metal while compressed air blows the molten material away. It is a versatile and widely used method for cutting, gouging, beveling, and preparing metals for welding or repair. An arc is created between a carbon (or graphite) electrode and the workpiece.
The intense heat from the arc melts the metal. A high-velocity jet of compressed air blows the molten metal away, leaving a clean surface. The air jet also prevents the re-solidification of the molten metal onto the workpiece. Metal is removed in controlled amounts, making it suitable for precise applications like weld preparation or defect removal.
